SDN Staff Reports
As the Starkville Parks and Recreation Department expands, a new bridge is on the way.
The Oktibbeha County Board of Supervisors agreed Tuesday to help the City of Starkville construct a bridge adjacent to Lynn Lane and the Sportsplex.
District 2 Supervisor Orlando Trainer, now vice president of the board, said the addition would aid the Parks and Recreation Department as its staff plans to add more parking.
“It’s going to help with the future growth plans of the park,” Trainer said.
“People will be able to access that bridge without having to go all the way around the road.”
The total cost of material is $12,000.
The Board of Supervisors also reelected District 3 Supervisor Marvell Howard as its president during its meeting Tuesday.
