Tyler Evan Crosland and Raysha Ivory Hatten were married Dec. 22, 2010, in Negril, Jamaica. The couple vacationed for seven days at a Sandals Resort and had a wonderful time in perfect weather.
The bride is the daughter of Mark and Gloria Batson of Starkville.
She is a 2006 graduate of Starkville High School. She attended Mississippi State University and Meridian Community College with a degree in dental hygiene.
She is currently employed as a dental hygienist.
The groom is at 2006 graduate of Starkville Academy and a 2010 graduate of Mississippi State University.
He is currently a physical therapy student at University Medical Center in Jackson.
The couple grew up in Starkville, attended the same church and youth group, and started dating when they were 17.
Raysha said h proposed in front of all of their friends.
“He told me that we were going to watch a football game at a friends house and when we got there I walked in the front door to all our friends yelling ‘suprise,’ and he walked in front of me and got down on one knee,†Raysha said.
The bride carried red roses. The bride described her dress, purchased at Christine’s Couture in Starkville, as “very flowy and perfect for the beach weather. We were both barefoot.â€
During their honeymoon vacation, the couple went snorkeling and kyaking and played beach volleyball. Raysha said they ate lots of food and got a suntan in the middle of December.
