The familiar face of Walt Grayson, host of Mississippi Public Television’s popular “Mississippi Roads” will be the featured author at January’s “Books and Authors” program sponsored by the Friends of the Starkville Public Library.
The program will begin at noon on Wednesday at the library, which is located at the intersection of University Drive and Montgomery Street.
Everyone is welcome. Grayson will be sharing features of our unique state from his latest books, “Looking around Mississippi Some More” and “Oh! That Reminds Me: More Mississippi Homegrown Stories.” He defines them as “coffee table” books, but are actually keepsakes of the natural and everyday treasures found in our state.
Traveling the state for WLBT-TV3 for “Looking Around Mississippi” and for MPB-TV’s “Mississippi Roads” never ceases to provide Grayson with untold stories, old and new, true and mostly true.
Ron Stewart, of the Electric Power Associations of Mississippi, says “[Walt] has the unique ability to take a small, insignificant object and develop a meaningful and enjoyable story. When it comes to conveying a heart-warming message, no one does it better.”
Watching his shows, it is easy to see that he loves people and life, and especially life here in Mississippi.
The public is invited to listen to Mississippi’s premier storyteller and ambassador of good will, Walt Grayson. Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Library.
