Four arrested on marijuana charges in Eupora
EUPORA — Earlier this week, authorities seized about $70,000 in marijuana and more than a dozen firearms, leading to the arrest of four people, a state law enforcement official said.
Webster County deputies and Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics agents followed up on a tip and executed a search warrant Tuesday at 110 Thinnes Drive.
There, they allegedly found a grow-house with 80 to 100 marijuana plants at an average of three-feet tall.
They also found approximately three pounds of processed marijuana elsewhere on the property, MBN Director Marshall Fisher said in a statement.
Arrested in conjunction with the search and seizures were Gregory Thinnes, 49, and Rosanne Thinnes, 46, both of 110 Thinnes Drive, were arrested in conjunction with the search and seizures, authorities said, and charged with manufacture of
marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to sell.
Joshua Thinnes, 24, of 110-B Thinnes Drive, and 33-year-old Jerrold Myers, 33, of 1335 Mississippi Highway 82 are also charged with manufacture of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to sell.
=Officials transported all four suspects to the Webster County Jail and were being held awaiting initial appearances in court.
MSU snow day makeup to be held on a Saturday
Mississippi State University officials will pick a Saturday to make up for the Jan. 10 snow day, withdrawing a previous plan to add a day at semester’s end.
MSU officials announced the decision on the university’s website Wednesday.
They will release the make-up day after they consult with varying organizations and schedules.
There were “many unforeseen and unpredictable conflicts” with changing the spring 2011 final exam schedule, the announcement reads.
The original final exam schedule will be in place. Exams will start April 25 and conclude April 29.
Commencement activities will take place April 29 at 7 p.m. and April 30 at 10 a.m. according to the previous schedule.
MSU officials expressed appreciation for “everyone’s understanding and patience” with the situation.
