ST. LOUIS –– Sylvia Bernice Hanks Hopkins died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011 in St. Louis, Mo. She was 94.
She was born September 22, 1916 in Kinmundy, Ill. to Dolpha Paul Hanks and Etna Jane Ritter Hanks.Â
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Rudolph Hopkins, three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by two sons, Gerold "Jerry" Eugene (Mary Anne) Benoist Sr. of Starkville and Roy Joseph "Buddy" (Muriel) Benoist Jr. of St. Louis, Mo.; grandchildren, Margaret Benoist Henning, Gene (Penny) Benoist, Gay (Jim) Benoist Willcutt, Cheryl (Dennis) Benoist Dill, Philip (Tari) Benoist, Debbie Benoist (Don) Wisdom; and great-grandchildren, Ashton Benoist, Brittany Benoist, Bree Anne Willcutt, Garland Willcutt, Cody Dill and Maddie Dill all of Starkville, and Joshua Benoist, Troy Benoist, Ryan Benoist, Valerie Benoist, Joseph Wisdom, Elizabeth Ann Wisdom and Sam Randazzo III and great-great granddaughter Elizabeth Paige Wisdom all of St. Louis, Mo.
A family service was held in St. Louis, Mo.
