February 9, 2011

From Staff Reports

FRENCH CAMP – The East Oktibbeha Titans knocked off the previously unbeaten French Camp Panthers 49-29 in the Class A, Region 5 Tournament.
French Camp is the host school for the tournament.
"This was pretty big," said East Oktibbeha boys coach Barnett Robinson, who has witnessed his team claim two-straight victories in the division tournament. "We played pretty good defense and took advantage of the opportunity to run the floor. Those were the keys to getting the victory.
"I just told my guys that the regular season means nothing right now and anything can happen at this time of the year."
The Titans established a 16-7 lead after the first quarter and held a 20-15 advantage at halftime.
Casey Neal led East Oktibbeha with 20 points and nine rebounds, while Chris Hunter also scored in double figures with 18 points. He pulled down five rebounds.
