Lucille Estes Allen

Lucille Estes Allen, 88, passed away on February 15, 2011 at OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville. She was a retired school teacher with Starkville Public Schools and a member of Artesia United Methodist Church. She received her B.S. and Masters degrees in Elementary Education from Mississippi State University. She retired from Overstreet Elementary School.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Will Allen, Jr.; daughter, Carolyn Ann Allen; and son, William David Allen, all of Starkville; sisters, Mae Ruth of Tupelo, Foy Basden and Ellen Stroup, both of Mooreville; brothers, Mannie Estes of Crockett, Texas and John Thomas Estes of Mooreville; grandchildren, Jennifer Allen, Carolee Allen, Paul Allen, Michael David Allen and Amber Allen; and great grandchild, Megan Allen.
Visitation is scheduled for Feb. 17 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville.
Funeral services are scheduled for Feb. 18 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Welch Funeral Home. Rev. Curtis Bray will conduct the service. Burial will be in Memorial Garden Park Cemetery.
