Henry Rudolph Dresse

Henry Rudolph Dressel, Jr., 75, passed away on Feb. 16, 2011, at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Ga. Mr. Dressel, the only child of Henry Rudolph, Sr. and Lena Dressel, was born July 16, 1935 in New York City.
Hank was Sr. Vice President of Taxes for National Service Industries in Atlanta and retired in 1993. He held a Master’s degree of Taxation from William & Mary University. He served in the 10th Infantry Division and was honorably discharged as a Captain in 1965. He loved nature, boating and family.
He was preceded in death by his son, Howard Douglas Dressel.
Mr. Dressel is survived by his wife, Suzanne Simmons Dressel of Norcross, Ga.; daughter, Debbie Dressel Tanner of Bogart, Ga.; sons, Ken Dressel of Foster City, Calif. and Doug Dressel of Boca Raton, Fla.; step-sons and their wives, Derek (Terry) Dewberry of Dallas, Texas, Mark (Jeanie) Dewberry of Helena, Ala., Todd (Stacy) Dewberry of Columbus, and Steven (Suzanne) Dewberry of Starkville; grandchildren, Clay, Tori and Ivey Tanner of Bogart, Ga., Kelly Dressel Thompson of Kennesaw, Ga., Louis and Christina Dressel of Foster City, Calif., Malcolm and Liam Dewberry of Dallas, Texas, Kelsey, Dalton and Bailey Dewberry of Helena, Ala., Carson Dewberry of Columbus, and Vance, Caroline and Shannon Dewberry of Starkville.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 19, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, with the funeral service immediately following in the chapel of the funeral home. Rev. Bob Whiteside will conduct the service. Burial will be Memorial Gardens Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Hank’s name to Gwinnett County Humane Society, St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. or Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Ga.
