Brooksville — Mr. A. Rex Parker, 95, of Brooksville gently passed away Monday, Feb. 21, 2011 at Trinity Place Personal Care Center in Columbus. His funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 23, at 11 a.m. at Brooksville Baptist Church with Bro. Danny Avery officiating. Interment will follow in Brooksville Cemetery. A visitation from 10:30 a.m. until service time will be held for family and friends. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon, MS is entrusted with the arrangements.
Mr. Parker is survived by two daughters and their husbands: Dot and Bob Holmes of Fairhope, Ala., and Ed and Lynn Black of Starkville. He is also survived by one son and his wife, James Rex and Jean Parker of Tupelo, as well as one sister, Florence Caldwell of Oxford. Also left to mourn his passing are seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
