Graveside services for Robert E. (Bob) White were held Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011 at 3 p.m. from Eastlawn Cemetery in Philadelphia with Steve Mabry officiating. McClain-Hays Funeral Home was charge of arrangements.
Mr. White, 88, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Neshoba County General Hospital.
He was a native of Union City, Tenn. and a longtime resident of Starkville. He had made his home in Philadelphia for the past seven years. He operated White Aircraft Maintenance & Service and was manager of the Starkville Airport for several years until retirement. Mr. White was a member of the Church of Christ in Philadelphia. He was a former member of Starkville Exchange Club. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Mary Virginia White of Philadelphia; daughters, Barbara Booker of Philadelphia and Judith Cole of Corpus Christi, Texas; three grandchildren, Thomas Booker of Philadelphia, Bryan Booker of Brandon, and Lesley Hedlund of Easton, Penn.; six great-grandchildren, Jonathan Booker, Taylor Booker, Mary Ellen Booker, Emily Booker, Camilla Hedlund, and Kira Hedlund; sister, Betty Hill of Troy, Tenn. and several nieces and nephews.
