ABERDEEN â€” Adrienne Hood Steadman, 79, passed away, Thursday, April 21, 2011 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus. Â
Adrienne Ewing Hood Steadman was born February 1, 1932 in Aberdeen, to the
late Adrienne Ewing and Joe Berry Hood. She started out as a bookkeeper for Mr. J. O. Bishop of "Bishop Chevrolet" and worked later for Jameson Ford, Market Ford-Starkville, Waters Truck and Tractor Company-Columbus for over 30 years. Mrs. Steadman was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Â She was known for being a â€śMid-South Pair Roller Skating Championâ€ť in her high school years. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas, beginning right after Thanksgiving Holidays. She was also a former member of the Junior Auxillary. Adrienne loved to travel and had ventured to Europe, Greece, the Caribbean and the Continental United States. She also her enjoyed pets. Adrienne Hood Steadman married Robert Cecil â€śBobbyâ€ť Steadman, Jr. April 4, 1951, in Aberdeen, he preceded her in death on January 13, 1998, and also by her son, Â Charles Robert Steadman, on August 23, 1956
Graveside funeral services will be Sunday, April 24, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery West Point with the E. Scott Allen officiating, burial will follow. Â Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Adrienne "Libby" Steadman of Houston, Texas; her god-granddaughter, Mitzi McGee of Tuscaloosa, Ala. and a number of nieces and nephews; and her close friend Elaine.

The family will gather Sunday at the Greenwood Cemetery at 1:45 p.m.
