BALDWYN – Baldwyn used a four-run second inning to set the tone for a 6-3 home win over Eupora Saturday to even the teams' second-round, Class 2A playoff series at a game apiece.
Region 4 champion Eupora (16-3) got a complete-game performance from starting pitcher Cain Young who allowed seven hits in defeat.
The Eagles offense mustered six total hits in the loss.
As a result of the Baldwyn win, the series will now shift back to Eupora for a decisive third game, to be played at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
"It's a battle of two pretty well matched up, even teams," said Eupora head coach Lee Berryhill. "Whoever makes the plays and hits and plays defense will come out on top (Monday)."
Whoever advances Monday will face either Region 2 winner Hamilton or Region 1 runner-up East Union in the third round of the playoffs beginning Friday.
