MANTACHIE – The East Webster softball team put the finishing touches on a Class 2A playoff sweep of Mantachie, winning 6-2 on the road Saturday.
With the win, the Wolverines (18-6) move on to the North State finals against Hatley.
On Saturday, Swayze Hollenhead picked up the pitching win for East Webster, hurling a complete game while striking out seven and surrendering just two hits while walking no one.
Both of the runs given up by Hollenhead were unearned, as the Wolverines battled through on a day their defense committed four total errors.
Offensively, Katie Gordon led the charge for East Webster.
Gordon had just one hit but drove in three runs in the contest.
Mamie Hollenhead had two hits for the Wolverines.
