The Newell-Grissom Building of the Mississippi State campus rang with the sounds of “Pomp and Circumstance” Friday evening as the Starkville Academy class of 2011 received their diplomas.
Invocation was lead by J.R. Gerhart, the student council vice-president.
Salutatorian Harrison Warren, presented the student address to his class, and thanked the staff, friends and family for supporting them along the way.
“Graduation is not the end, it is just the beginning,” Warren said.
Principal Billy Wilbanks, Head of School John Stephens and Board President Brian Jones presented the 45 seniors with their diplomas.
Valedictorian, Molly Edmondson reminisced on their years at Starkville Academy and shared her hopes for their futures in her farewell speech.
The ceremony ended with benediction lead by Patrick Jones, a student council representative.
