David Willard Broom

David Willard Broom, 57, passed away on May 18, 2011 at his residence in Maben.  He was an Administrator with Starkville Public Schools and member of First Baptist Church.  He was also a member of Pi Kappa Alpha (IIKA) Fraternity, Mississippi Professional Educators and Mississippi Association of Educators.
He is survived by his wife, Mazelle Beach Broom; son, David W. Broom, Jr. from Maben; mother, Kathryn Hearst Broom from Benton; father, Willard Broom from Benton; sisters, Lisa Ables from Yazoo City, and Kay Ray from Madison; and brother, Greg Broom from Yazoo City.
Visitation for Mr. Broom is scheduled for Sunday, May 22 from 1-3 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, with the funeral service immediately following in the funeral home chapel.  Rev. Clifton Curtis will conduct the service. 
Honorary pallbearers are as follows: Greg Broom, Brad Ray, Randy Hearst, Kim Sligh, Stan Hollowell, Ronnie Ware, and James Stidham.
