Mrs. Margueriette Spears Ball of Calhoun City passed away June 20 at Calhoun Health Services Nursing Home at age 94. Mrs. Ball was born June 11, 1917.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Calhoun City, Daughters of the American Revolution, the Colonial Dames, the New Century Club, and served as director of WMU at FBC. She was a home economics teacher and homemaker.
She is survived by sons Jimmy (Mary Lynn) Ball of Calhoun City and daughter Susan (Bill) Gamel of Starkville; sisters Ruby Etoyle Brown of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren Michael McKenzie, Bradley (Nicole) McKenzie, Trey (Alison) Ball, and Wesley Ball; stepgrandchildren Cameron and Emily Peyton and Troy and Taylor Strunk; great-grandchildren James Luke McKenzie, Landon Michael McKenzie, Vera Kate Ball; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Curtis Ball.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on June 24 at First Baptist Church in Calhoun City. Dr. Anthony Kay and Rev. Jimmy Vance will officiate. Debbie Barnes and Bettye Reese Lindsey will provide music. Burial will follow at the Calhoun City Cemetery. Visitation will be held June 23 at Pryor Funeral Home in Calhoun City from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Pallbearers are Michael McKenzie, Bradley McKenzie, Trey Ball, Wesley Ball, Hal Reese, Jr., Paul Moore, Jr,, Dr. Jim Dobbs, and Kent Hudson. Honorary pallbearers are the First Baptist Church Bus Committee.
