MANTEE — Mr. James “Dannie” Vaughn, 55, died Friday, June 24, 2011 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Mr. Vaughn, a resident of Mantee, was a heavy equipment operator and a veteran in the National Guard.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora with burial in Center Grove Cemetery in Oktibbeha County. Bro. Jason Middleton and Bro. Jason Green will officiate.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Marie Vaughn, father, John Alvin Vaughn and brother, Jerry Vaughn.
He is survived by his mother, Nancy Vaughn McCain of Maben; daughter, Christy Vaughn Kelly (Jason) of Starkville; son, Daniel “Cole” Vaughn (Brittany) of Sturgis; two step-daughters, Josie Tucker of Mantee and Julie Dailey of Sturgis; sisters, Annette Swindle (Randy) of Mathiston, Patricia Boatright of Mantee; brothers, Johnny Vaughn of Mathiston, Kenneth Vaughn of Caledonia, Mark Vaughn (Carol) of Pheba; grandchildren, Corey Bailey, Caden Dailey, Cameron Pilgrim, Brittany Bailey, Kaylee Tucker. He is also survived by longtime girlfriend, Cathy Tucker of Mantee and a host of nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers are Jay Vaughn, Corey Vaughn, Kevin Vaughn, Mark Vaughn, Jr., Gregg Swindle, James Dendy and Larry Holden.
Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora is in charge of arrangements.
