OXFORD — Mrs. Bessie Long Hewlett, 83, a homemaker, died Saturday, June 25, 2011, at her residence in Oxford.
The funeral services will be Tuesday, June 28, at 2 p.m. at Clear Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Lipe officiating. Burial will follow at Clear Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 28, at 10:30 a.m.. until noon at Waller Funeral Home.
Born in West Point, Mrs. Hewlett was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church in Oxford. She was preceded in death by her sons, Jerry Wayne Long and Jimmy Larry Long.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph Hewlett of Oxford; a daughter, Janice Reid of West Point; two stepsons, Richard Hewlett and David Hewlett both of Starkville; a sister, Betty Fitzgerald of West Point; two brothers, Bobby Coggins of Columbus, and William “Sonny” Coggins of Longview; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
