Mrs. Lola Ingram Forbes, 101, of¬†Grenada, passed away Friday, July 1, 2011 at Providence Assisted Living in¬†Grenada.¬†She was born September 27, 1909, in Kilmichael to Robert E. and Stella Tompkins Ingram.¬†Mrs. Forbes was a member of¬† First¬†United¬†Methodist¬†Church, where she served on the Board of Trustees.¬†She was also a member of the Grenada Garden Club, the Grenada Iris Club and the Order of the Eastern Star.¬†Prior to retirement, she worked as the bookkeeper at Phillips Building Supply in¬†Grenada.
¬†Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at 2:30 p.m. at¬†First¬†United¬† Methodist¬†Church¬†in¬†Grenada¬†with Rev. J.C. Hubbard and Rev. Holly Morales officiating.¬†Interment will follow in the¬†Woodlawn¬†Memorial Park.¬†Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time at the church.¬†Pallbearers will be James Crawford, Fisher Crawford, James Cummins, Tom Forbes, Tim Forbes, Danny Sirmon and Daryl Paschall.
Survivors include two sons, James R. Forbes (Patricia) of¬† Millry, Ala. and Richard E. Forbes (Bettye) of¬† Starkville; a brother, Jewel Ingram of Kilmichael; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.¬†She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Labon T. Forbes, and two sisters, Mrs. J.E. Burns and Mrs. Jim Starkey.
