Today, Starkville School Board members approved a timetable to accept applications for its next superintendent and tentatively scheduled another round of public hearings.
During its special budget meeting at noon, the board unanimously voted to set Sept. 12 to Oct. 31 as the window for the Mississippi School Boards Association to accept applications for the vacant superintendent position. An advertising plan was also adopted by the board.
The board also voted to set Aug. 15 as the deadline for another round of public hearings on the superintendent search. The board set a tentative hearing date for Aug. 11 but could modify the date in order to prevent conflicts. Harold Fischer, MSBA search coordinator, will conduct the public hearings with the community and district staff and administrators without the Starkville School Board present.
