The Starkville Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously approved four plat requests at its regular meeting Tuesday evening.
The commission approved two requests from Tabor Properties, LLC. The first request was a final subdivision plat of two lots, one for a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant and another for the University Club Condominiums, on a 4.1-acre site at 701 and 703 Spring Street.
The second request, which also concerned the University Club Condominiums, was presented as a final condominium plat for 52 multi-family residential condo units. Each request was approved with little resistance from the commission.
The condos are located at the former site of the University Inn, which closed in January 2010. Tabor Properties bought the site, began renovating the old hotel and started construction on the Buffalo Wild Wings on the site of the hotel’s former lobby. The board of alderman previously approved a conditional use request for the site, allowing multi-family residential condos in a C-2 — general business — zone on June 7.
The final two requests came from Mike Brent. The first was a revision of the Stark Crossing final subdivision plat. The site is located at the northeastern corner of Eudora Welty and Abernathy Drives. The original plat was approved in 2002, and in December of 2010, an additional lot was added to the plat. In the revision, one lot was subdivided to create six new lots and an underground drainage pipe was rerouted.
The final request was a second revision of a final condominium plat located at University Crossing, on the 600 block of Highway 12 East. The site is located in a C-2 zoning district. The proposal included a 12 condo units and a common area. The property was first platted as a condo in 2008, and later revised in 2010.
All the items will be submitted as recommendations to the board of aldermen at its next meeting.
