Delores Mae Murphree Thompson, 85, passed away July 27, 2011, at Pontotoc Health Services in Pontotoc.
She was the widow of the late Ben Edward Thompson. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and a retired seamstress from Kellwood in Calhoun City. Her favorite hobbies were quilting and taking care of her garden and yard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Colonel Cleveland Murpree and Luna Elizabeth Winter Murphree; a sister, Erma Murphree Ramage; a brother, Buford Murphree; and a grandson, Jeff Daniel.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 29 at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Bro. Kevin Chrestman. Burial will be held at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Bruce.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, July 28 at Parker Memorial Funeral Home.
She was survived by two daughters, Sandra Daniel of Houlka, and Mitzi Mize of Pontotoc; two sons, Tony Thompson of Starkville, and Stanly Thompson of Bruce; seven grandchildren, Julie McCallum, Stacy Deloach, Joseph Thompson, Angie Daniel, Stephanie Mata, Hank Thompson and Jana Mize; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Michael Brown, Mike Deloach, Joey Murphree, Shane O'Bannon, David Ramage, Tommy Ramage, Bobby Thompson, Hank Thompson, Jimmy Thompson, Joseph Thompson, Mark Young and Ronnie Young.
Parker Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
