A little girl peers out the window of her school bus after her first day of school. Yesterday, schools all over the county opened for the 2011-2012 school year. The energy at Sudduth Elementary was buzzing as teachers welcomed over 300 new kindergarten students this year. Starkville School District Assistant Superintendent Walter Gonsoulin said the day went well despite a few hiccups, which is normal for the first day of a new school year.
