Fiery Ride

August 31, 2011

East Oktibbeha firefighters hose down a Ford F-150 on Highway 82 Wednesday. EOFD was dispatched to the scene — about one mile west of the Hickory Grove interchange — at approximately 11:53 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the vehicle, which was loaded with painting supplies, engulfed in flames. Oktibbeha County Fire Services Coordinator Kirk Rosenhan said firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and no injuries were reported. Traffic on Highway 82 was blocked for a short time, he said, but the Mississippi Highway Patrol was able to open a lane for commuters. (Photo by Kirk Rosenhan, OCFS)
