Three people were arrested Friday after a vehicle struck three other automobiles and caused injuries after flipping.
At approximately 12:30 a.m., Starkville police officers were dispatched to Hogan Street after receiving reports of a multi-car accident.
A 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe struck a Chevrolet Suburban, traveled across street and struck a Honda Accord, crossed the street again and struck a Toyota Tacoma, and came to a rest upside down in the middle street, SPD said in a press release.
The Tahoe was occupied by six people at the time of the incident. Three of the occupants were arrested, while three other occupants were injured. The victims were listed in stable condition according to SPD.
Michael Ellis Rhodes, 24, 481 Rhodes Lane, Yazoo City, was arrested and charged with felony hit-and-run resulting in personal injury, three counts of hit-and-run involving an unattended vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident with injuries and no insurance. Also arrested was William Hunter Pridgen, 22, 208 CR 313 Drive, Greenwood. He was charged with accessory after the fact, profanity and drunkenness in a public place. A juvenile was also arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
Rhodes bond was set at $10,000, while Pridgen’s was set at $5,000. Rhodes, Pridgen and the juvenile were transported to the Clay County Jail.
In the release, SPD said alcohol was believed to be a factor in the crash. No additional details are available at this time, and the incident remains under investigation.
