Aaron Grady Monts

Aaron Grady Monts, 94, passed away on Sept. 12, 2011 at his daughter's home in Corinth. He was a Master Mechanic with Millsaps Pontiac Buick for 35 years and a member of First Baptist Church in Starkville. He loved bird hunting, water skiing, camping and his bird dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J. D. Monts, Sr. and Helen McMinn Monts; wife, Lillian Sybol Johnson Monts; brother, Thurman Monts; and sister, Bernice Monts Simmons.
 He is survived by a daughter, Betty Christian (Dan) of Corinth; sons, Grady Monts (Anita) of Manhattan Beach, Calif. and Garry Monts (Deborah) of Springfield, Tenn.; brother, J. D. Monts, Jr. (Shirley) of Maben; eight grandchildren, Danny Christian (Sherry) of Corinth, Tommy Christian of Corinth, Susan Edwards (Jim) of Sycamore, Ill., Jessica Urell (Matt) of Bethpage, Tenn., John Monts of Springfield, Tenn., Meagan Ruley (Ben) of Springfield, Tenn., Julie Nunis (Mark) of Hermosa Beach, Calif. and Jill Foley (Jeff) of Santa Monica, Calif.; 18 great grandchildren, Haley Christian, Aaron Christian, Jared Christian and Leslie Christian, all of Corinth, MS and Amy Christian of Columbus, Blaine Edwards, Lillia Edwards and Elena Edwards, all of Sycamore, Ill., Austin Nunis, Sierra Nunis of Hermosa Beach, Calif. and Ethan, Hank and Reese Foley, all of Santa Monica, Calif., Kyla, James Lee and John Russell Urell, all of Bethpage, Tenn., Samantha and Kinnedi Ruley of Springfield, Tenn.,;  and three great great grandchildren; and host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 16 from 5-7 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, and also on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 1-2 p.m. with the funeral service immediately following in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Clifton Curtis will conduct the service.  Burial will be in Double Springs/Clear Springs Baptist Cemetery.
Pallbearers are his grandsons.
