Henry Reginald Rivers, 83, passed away on Sept. 18, 2011 at OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville, MS. He owned and operated Hull's Grocery and retired in pipeline construction. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and he was an avid outdoorsman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Lillian Rivers; four sisters, Barbara McCrory, Helen Beverly, Ruth Rainey and Vera Nell Minchew; and one brother, Alver Rivers.
He is survived by his daughter, Wanda Kay Farkas of Clarksville, Tenn.; son, Gary Scott Rivers (Sheila) of Starkville; sisters, Shalmer Jones, Sylvia Thompson and Thalia Tuck, all of Maben; brother, Kenneth Rivers of Ackerman; grandchildren, Michelle McKee, Corey McKee and Colbey Rivers; and great-grandchildren, Austin Warnock and Hayden and Kimber McKee. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mr. Rivers is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 20 from 5-7 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. at Adaton United Methodist Church. Rev. Gene O'Brian will conduct the service. Burial will be in the Adaton United Methodist Church Cemetery.
