Edna Dorothy Buckner

Edna Dorothy Buckner, 84, passed away at OCH Regional Medical Center on Oct. 6, 2011. 
Edna loved the Lord and spent her life serving in his ministry. 
Prior to her retirement she served for 26 years as secretary of First Baptist Church in Starkville. 
She also served as secretary for the Baptist Brotherhood in Dallas, Texas, First Baptist Church in Belzoni, First Baptist Church in Vicksburg, and Calvary Baptist Church in Memphis.
 Services are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 8 at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church Chapel in Starkville. 
Visitation will be prior to the service from 1-2 p.m.  The Reverend Clifton Curtis and Chip Stevens will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Bradley.
 Ms. Buckner was survived by one sister, Mrs. Annie Ruth Oakley of Starkville.  She was preceded in death by her parents, William Robert Buckner and May Belle Hutchinson Buckner; three brothers, William R. Buckner, Curtis Buckner, and James Buckner; three sisters, Geneva Sanders, Alyne Montgomery and Lee Horton.
Memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering at the First Baptist Church in Starkville.
