DURANT – The Ackerman Indians traveled to Durant Friday night hoping to avoid a letdown against a struggling Williams-Sullivan team.
The Indians more than accomplished their goal, dominating all game long to take a 64-8 win.
"We really came out strong and played well," said Ackerman head coach Adam Dillinger. "That's what we preached about all week, to come out, be assertive and play strong from the start."
The win moves the Indians to 5-3 overall, 2-0 in Class 2A, Region 2 play.
"After two division games, this is where you want to be," said Dillinger.
Ackerman will try to keep rolling next week at home as they battle division rival Eupora.
"We know the caliber of team they are so we have to be ready," said Dillinger of Eupora. "We know the type of team they are, the kind of players they have and the coaches they have. They'll be ready to play as well."
