The Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death of a man who was stabbed to death Friday.
Marion Hill Jr., 62, of 2323 Williams Road, was found in the middle of the road near 633 Williams Road with a stab wound to the neck.
Coroner Michael Hunt said Hill was transported to OCH Regional Medical Center where resuscitation efforts were discontinued and he was declared dead.
Hunt said Hill’s body has been sent to the Mississippi Crime Lab in Jackson for an autopsy.
Sheriff Dolph Bryan said there were four witnesses to the stabbing and although someone was brought in for questioning, there have been no arrests.
Commander Brett Watson said it appeared the other party was acting in self-defense when they stabbed Hill, though the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department will continue the investigation. The case will go the Oktibbeha County Grand Jury in January.
