Favre making plans to transfer from MSU

December 7, 2011

Dylan Favre

There are indications that Mississippi State redshirt freshman quarterback Dylan Favre is ready to transfer.
Sources close to the program and Twitter reports suggested that Favre will leave the program and won't make the trip with the Bulldogs to the Music City Bowl on Dec. 30.
There's a possibility that Favre could change his mind before Friday when MSU begins practice for the bowl game, but it isn't expected. A reason for the potential transfer was not clear, but the signal caller has been frustrated with a lack of playing time in the past.
Favre has played in nine games for the Bulldogs and has completed 13-of-26 pass attempts for 119 yards and one touchdown. He has 12 carries for 46 yards and two more scores.
As a senior signal caller at St. Stanislaus High School, Favre was selected the 2009 Gatorade Player of the Year, made the Parade All-American Team and was chosen the Class 4A Player of the Year by the Mississippi Association of Coaches.
Favre completed 342-of-529 pass attempts for 5,589 yards and 63 touchdowns as a senior. He also rushed for 1,265 yards and 18 touchdowns while leading St. Stanislaus to the Class 4A State championship.
In his junior season at St. Stanislaus, Favre completed 225-to-370 pass attempts for 3,805 yards and 45 touchdowns. He was 196-of-322 passing as a sophomore for 3,092 yards and 36 scores.
The nephew of former National Football League quarterback Brett Favre also considered Tulane and his uncle's alma mater Southern Mississippi before signing with the Bulldogs.
It is not known at this time if Dylan Favre will transfer to either one of those schools.
