February 8, 2012

COLUMBUS – The Starkville Academy Lady Volunteers went across the river to Columbus for the third time this season and once again brought back a victory.

The South AAA champion Lady Vols improved their record to 29-4 overall and 11-1 in the conference.

The Lady Vols jumped out to a 15-3 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. They held a 28-12 advantage at halftime.

Starkville Academy shot 47 percent from the field (25 of 53) and out-rebounded Heritage 26-21.
