SSD names Holloway for superintendent

After a months-long search process, the Starkville School District Board of Trustees named Lewis Holloway as the new district superintendent yesterday during a special meeting.
Board president Keith Coble said it was Holloway's extensive experience as a superintendent that made him stand out from the other candidates.
"He's been a superintendent for many years. He's been a superintendent in many districts. He's been a superintendent in college towns," Coble said.
Holloway signed a four-year contract at $175,000 per year beginning July 1.
Holloway plans on visiting the district next week to meet with administrators and visit the schools.
"The announcement came with as a great joy for my wife and I," Holloway said. "We feel like we're moving home."
