Despite the momentum MSU carries into the contest, head coach Rick Stansbury understands his team can’t afford to look past Georgia.
“Georgia is coming off its most impressive victory of the season,” said Stansbury. “What they did to a very good Arkansas team catches your attention.”
Georgia, who dismantled Arkansas on Wednesday 81-59 to snap a four-game skid, is led in scoring by freshman Kentavious Caldwell-Pope who is scoring an average of 14.2 points per outing. Gerald Robinson, a senior guard for UGA, is adding 14.1 points per contest.

In that outing senior guard, Dee Bost, earned his first double-double of the season with 15 points and a season-high 13 assists. Junior forward Arnett Moultrie was a rebound shy of his 14th double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds.
A win for Mississippi State would keep it in running for overall SEC title with the league-leading Kentucky Wildcats coming to Starkville in 10 days.
