Starkville Police Department officials say they’re still looking for a male suspect in an alleged armed robbery which took place approximately 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
SPD Lt. Troy Outlaw said a female was robbed at gunpoint at Cadence Bank at Highway 12 and Spring Street when she was withdrawing money from an ATM.
Outlaw said the suspect pointed a gun in her side and demanded she give him the money she retrieved out of the machine.
The suspect allegedly took $300 and the victim’s cell phone before fleeing on foot in the general direction of the Hampton Inn. Outlaw said SPD is in the process of subpoenaing the victim’s phone records.
He said the victim described the subject as wearing a dark colored hoodie sweatshirt, but no other details were available.
“We’re trying to recover video coverage from any business around the area that might have had footage,” Outlaw said.
Investigation into the incident is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call SPD at 662-323-4131 or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 1-800-530-7151.
