BREAKING: SPD confirms 1 injured in Camelot Apartments shooting

Starkville Police Chief David Lindley confirmed one person was injured in a shooting at Camelot Apartments Monday night.

Details are scarce as officers conduct their investigation, but Lindley said one adult male was shot in the chest during the shooting. Lindley said the victim was still alive when he was transported to OCH Regional Medical Center.

SPD has a lead and is searching for a suspect, Lindley said, but key witnesses at the scene are reluctant to share information.

"We're having resistance cooperation," Lindley said.

When SPD arrived at the scene, gunfire was still ongoing, Lindley said. Sheriff's deputies are assisting in the investigation.
