State leaders to take NCF stump today, Thursday

Politics takes the forefront today and Thursday at the Neshoba County Fair as U.S. Senate candidates, State House representatives and state leaders prepare to talk at the state’s most well-known political spotlight.

Scheduled to speak today in the Founders Square Pavilion are: 8th District Place 1 Circuit Court Judge Marcus Gordon, 8th District Place 2 Circuit Court Judge Vernon Cotten, 6th District Place 1 Chancery Court Judge Joey Kilgore, District 44 Rep. C. Scott Bounds, District 18 Sen. Giles Ward, Public Service Commissioner Lynn Posey, Mississippi Transporation Commissioner Dick Hall, State Auditor Stacey Pickering, Attorney General Jim Hood and Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves.

Gordon will begin proceedings at 9:10 a.m. with Cotten following at 9:20 a.m. Kilgore will speak at 9:30 a.m. with Bounds proceeding at 9:40 a.m. Ward will close out the hour beginning at 9:50 a.m.

The 10 a.m. hour will begin with Posey, who will be followed by Hall at 10:10 a.m. Pickering will take the Pavilion stage at 10:20 a.m. and will be followed by Hood at 10:30 a.m. Featured speaker Reeves will close out today’s speeches at 10:40 a.m.

Thursday’s speakers include 8th Circuit Court District Attorney Mark Duncan, Miss. U.S. Senate candidates Thomas Cramer, Shawn O’Hara and Albert Gore, Jr., Miss. Supreme Court Justice candidates Earle S. Banks and William L. Waller, State Treasurer Lynn Fitch, Miss. Commissioner of Insurance Mike Chaney, Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce Cindy Hyde-Smith, Miss. House of Representatives speaker Phillip Gunn, Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann and Miss. Gov. Phil Bryant.
