OKOLONA – Deangelo Liggins had 55 yards rushing on 14 carries and had a 6-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter as the East Webster Wolverines defeated Okolona 14-6 Friday night on the road.
Wilbur O'Briant returned a fumble 49 yards for a touchdown to give the Wolverines their first points of the game.
After the extra point was missed, Liggins made up the points by scoring on a two-point conversion following his fourth quarter touchdown.
East Webster improved its record to 2-0 and hosts Weir next Friday in a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
West Oktibbeha 56, Montgomery County 6
KILMICHAEL – The West Oktibbeha Timberwolves continued their offensive ways and collected a big victory over the Hornets.
Quarterback Von Smith had five passing touchdowns, Lavante Tate had two receiving touchdowns and Kelsey Jefferson caught one score.
Running back Tiberias Lampkin had two scores.
The Timberwolves improved their record to 2-0 and have an open date next week.
East Oktibbeha 55, McAdams 0
MCADAMS – The Titans rolled offensively and collected their first win of the 2012 campaign.
Jermaine Gillespie had three touchdowns, Juwan Roberts had a rushing score and a receiving score, Bryant Conley had one touchdown and Destin Covington had two scores.
Covington also had 56 yards rushing.
Curtis Randle went 6-for-8 on extra points.
The Titans improved their record to 1-1. They are back in action next Friday night when they travel to North Pontotoc. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
