Rodney Smith

Mr. Rodney Wayne Smith, 38, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at University Medical Center in Jackson.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012 in the Welch Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Buck Buchanan and Rev. Larry Yarber officiating.
Burial will follow at Memorial Garden in West Point.
Visitation will be held 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012 at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville.
Welch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Rodney was a self-employed sub-contractor. He was also an Army veteran.
He is survived by his mother, Wanda Smith of Starkville; sons, Hayden Lee Smith of West Point, Robert Pratt Smith of West Point, and Tristan Seth Smith of Brandon; brother, Kenny Smith of Starkville; fiancé,  Ragan Foster of West Point; paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. William (Sonny) Coggins of Starkville; and nephews, Austin Smith, Tanner Smith, Bailey Smith and Gavin Smith.

Rodney was preceded in death by his father Limmie E. Smith, Jr. and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Limmie E. Smith. 

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Rodney Smith Memorial Fund, c/o Welch Funeral Home, 201 W. Lampkin St., Starkville, MS 39759.
