Mrs. Carolyn Ward Tyner, 65, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012 at her home in Madison.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 at The Chapel of the Cross Episcopal Church in Madison.
Burial will follow at the Chapel of the Cross cemetery.
Visitation will be held 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2012 at the church, and again at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 prior to the service.
Born in Starkville on Nov. 19, 1946, to William Henson and Doris Fitzhugh Ward, Carolyn graduated from Starkville High School in 1963 at the age of 16. She went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Special Education from Mississippi State University before moving to Jackson.
She is survived by her husband, Dan Tyner; daughters, Allison White Bridges of Ridgeland and Ashley White Pittman (Crymes) of Jackson; grandchildren, Brittany Alyssa Mitchell, John Ross Mitchell, Abigail Morgan Pittman and Crymes George Pittman II; nieces, Jennifer Barnett Chapman, Laura Ward and Gretchen Ward; her Papillons, Typsi and Sissy, all of whom will miss her zest and fervor for life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ann Ward Barnett; and brother, William H. “Bill” Ward Jr.
