Mr. Clifford Eugene Gustin, 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012 in Starkville.
A memorial celebrating his life will be held in Starkville at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2012.
He was born in Smith Center, Kan. and migrated to California at age six where he grew up and graduated from Manteca High in 1949.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
After his tour of duty, he spent 32 years as an insurance salesman for Prudential and Metropolitan. He enjoyed camping, water skiing and snow skiing with his family, but his most pleasurable sport was golfing. He never met a stranger and enjoyed meeting new people everywhere he went.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia; son, Carl Gustin and his wife Julie of Modesto, Calif.; daughters, Stacy Ivie and her husband Rick of Paso Robles, Calif. and Peggy Picard and her husband Paul of Starkville; sister, Norma Schmidt; and brother, Henry Braghetta.
Cliff was blessed with 11 grandchildren, Jared, Devin, Janell, Ashley, Ryan, Courtney, Amber, Katelynn, Amanda, Megan and Ryan; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
