East Oktibbeha County Fire Department responded to a call from a passer-by reporting a structure fire on Oktoc Road behind Ebenezer Baptist Church at approximately 1:45 p.m. Thursday. Firefighters arrived to find an abandoned house in flames and were able to extinguish the blaze with the assistance of Bell Schoolhouse Fire Department and District 5 Fire Department. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Fire departments in Oktibbeha County also responded to two other calls in the past two days, Oktibbeha County Fire Services Coordinator Kirk Rosenhan said. One was an abandoned double-wide mobile home on Moor High Road which was destroyed. The other was a fire on Highway 15 in the Mathiston Area.
