EUPORA – Taking things one game at a time is the motto of the 2012-2013 boys’ basketball team.
“We have a chance to be really good this year,” Eupora coach Bryant Thomas said. “We competed with everyone last year, so this year we have a very good chance to be successful.”
That drive for success has led the Eagles to set some pretty ambitious goals which ultimately end with the team competing for a district title.
Returning everyone from the previous season will be one of the largest factors to the success of Eupora, which boast seven seniors on the roster.
Among those returners are senior Jamall Roby, who Thomas describes as “explosive’ and is looking toward to guide the team on this season’s journey.
There are a few underclassmen that Thomas has set his sights on to make a quick impact on the team dynamic.
“We have a sophomore named Trey Pittman who possesses that 'it' factor,” Thomas said. “He shoots the three ball well and I am really expecting him to come right in and be a team player.”
Having so much experience is one of the key factors for Thomas and the Eagles.
“We are going to put five guys on the court and we are going to cause problems for some people,” Thomas said. “Our bread and butter were our juniors last year, so this year we have some exciting big things to look forward to.”
The Eagles travel to Calhoun City on Nov. 27.
