As December continues to roll along, one thing is inevitable: holiday dinner parties.
With the hustle and bustle of shopping and road trips, some people struggle to find time preparing dishes for their respective parties. At any event, a small, flavorful appetizer is certain to be a hit among those gathered, and this dish does not disappoint.
The Christmas Caprese Kabobs are perfect for home chefs looking for a simple appetizer that is full of fresh flavor. Taken from the Italian region of Campania, Caprese is simply a mix of mozzarella cheese, tomatoes and basil that is lightly coated and seasoned with olive oil, salt and pepper. These refreshing ingredients are not only good for you, but they taste great when combined. For my recipe, I added a touch of balsamic vinegar to add some extra tang. Healthy and perfect for vegetarians, adding slices of prosciutto would take the dish to another level of texture and flavor. While only salt and pepper are listed, feel free to experiment with some of your favorite spices to bring personal flair to this appetizer.
For entertainment purposes, this appetizer contains the primary colors of the Christmas season and can be arranged in decorative ways to add an element of design to any holiday spread.
