Mr. Will Allen Jr., 91, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012 at his residence in Starkville.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2012 at Welch Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sandra Brown officiating.
Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 at Welch Funeral Home.
Welch Funeral Home of Starkville is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Allen served in C Army 10th Mountain Division 616 Field Artillery during World War II and was a 1940 graduate of Mooreville High School in Mooresville. He was a sales supervisor with Dairymen, Inc. and later as receiving clerk for Oktibbeha County. He was a member of Artesia United Methodist Church, American Legion (a former commander of Post 13) and a lifetime member of VFW.
He is survived by his children, Carolyn Ann Allen and William David Allen, both of Starkville; grandchildren, Paul Allen of Decatur, Ill., Carolee Allen of Fort Myers, Fla., Jennifer Allen of Jacksonville, Fla. and Mike Allen (Amber) of Decatur, Ill.; and great-grandchildren, Megan Allen and Ethan Allen of Decatur, Ill. (Mike and Amber's children).
He is preceded in death by his parents, Will Anderson Allen and Mittie Lou Priddy Allen; wife, Lucille Estes Allen; and siblings, Faye Burgess, Joe Allen, Clyde Allen and Ruby Brooks.
