ABERDEEN – The Starkville High School basketball teams swept Aberdeen on the road to close out the regular season Friday night.
After the Lady Yellowjackets won a 61-44 decision against the Lady Bulldogs, the SHS boys completed the successful night by knocking off the home team 68-63.
The Lady Jackets took a 44-12 lead at halftime after outscoring Aberdeen 22-6 in each of the first two quarters.
Blair Schaefer scored 19 points to lead SHS, while Imane Montgomery added 13 points and Taylor Price chipped in 12 points.
The Lady Jackets, who improved to 14-7 overall, turn their attention to Yazoo City at the Class 5A, Region 2 Tournament in Canton Monday night. The tip is 7:30 p.m.

ABERDEEN – The Jackets ended the regular season on a good note by edging the Bulldogs.
Caleb Wilson led four players in double-figure scoring with 16 points, while Raphael Leonard scored 15 points, Ravonte' Gandy added 13 points and Avonte' Amos contributed 10 points.
Starkville plays Canton at the Class 5A, Region 2 Tournament at Canton on Tuesday night. The tip is also set for 7:30 p.m.
