Lowndes County deputies have identified a suspect in connection to a fatal shooting at a club near the Oktibbeha-Lowndes county line just after midnight Thursday.
Ronagal Lamar Outlaw II, 17, of 1859 Stowood Road faces one count of murder in connection to the death of 23-year-old Starkville resident Trumaine Macon and is being held at Lowndes County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
Deputies were dispatched to Crossroads Lounge on Miss. Highway 182 West at 12:11 a.m. Thursday. According to Oktibbeha County Coroner Michael Hunt, patrons at the club loaded Macon into a car which ran out of gas before he was transferred to a second vehicle. Upon arrival at OCH Regional Medical Center, Hunt said, repeated attempts to resuscitate Macon failed, and he was pronounced dead at 12:58 a.m.
Lowndes County Chief Deputy Marc Miley said investigation into the incident is ongoing. He did not say whether more arrests would be made or if a handgun was recovered.
