Consideration of capital improvements and rescinding prior action on the Carver Drive ditch are two of several items on the Starkville Board of Aldermen agenda.
Other business scheduled for the board includes:
u Discussion and consideration of hiring to fill the vacant position of community development director.
u A second public hearing on adopting an ordinance that would regulate outside storage and consideration to adopt the ordinance.
u Consideration of amending city policy to hold two public hearings for the adoption of ordinances to exempt the naming of streets and the adoption of the official municipal street map from the required hearings.
u Consideration of calling for a public hearing to adopt an ordinance to amend the official municipal street map and change the name of Spring Street to Needmore Place.
u Consideration of calling for a public hearing on amending the landscape ordinance to better define requirements for developers and establish a board for hearing issues related to city landscaping.
u Consideration of accepting the private street off Azalea Lane as a public street upon meeting sufficient requirements to be considered a public road.
u Consideration of changing Saturday business hours at the city landfill from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. to 8 a.m.-noon
u Consideration of determining that several properties located throughout the city are a menace to the public health and safety of the community.
u Consideration of a request by Freddie Rasberry for approval uf a preliminary subdivision plat at the intersection of North Washington Street and Owens Drive in Ward 7.
