OMAHA, Neb. – Trey Porter may have been the last person Mississippi State fans might think could deliver in the clutch on college baseball's biggest stage.
The senior Bulldog hasn't seen a ton of action this postseason. Porter has taken just eight at-bats in 12 postseason games this year.
Before Monday night's game against Indiana, Porter had just one hit and one RBI.
"I'll give 100 percent of the credit to the bench mob," Porter said after Monday's game about him being patient in his absence from the lineup. "Every single pitch, we're seeing what the pitcher does. It definitely helps keeping your head in the game."
