OCH Regional Medical Center can now complete its latest expansion project.
Its planned-for renovation was approved for a cost up to $27.5 million when Oktibbeha County’s bonding capacity fell short of the bond.
The Oktibbeha County Board of Supervisors had to get permission from the Mississippi Legislature to increase the county’s bonding capacity.
On Monday, the supervisors approved a $3.6 million bid for the remaining $6 million in construction from Morgan Keegan and Company Inc. of Memphis.
The two hospital bonds will fund renovation of the women’s care unit, construct a new patient room tower and add more parking.
Three other companies bid on the project, all out-of-state, with the highest at $4.2 million.
